Do I need debate experience to join?
No. Most people who join have never formally debated. Topics and sides are assigned at the event, you get a few minutes to prep, and judges give written feedback so you improve every round. You can also warm up any time against our AI opponent before your first live debate.
How is adult debate different from high school or college debate?
Student formats like Lincoln-Douglas and Policy require heavy prep, evidence files, and fast "spreading" delivery. SuperDebate uses one accessible Standard Debate format — flexible team sizes (1v1 to 5v5), plain-language argument, and no prep files — so working adults can just show up and compete.
Can I debate online, or is it in person only?
Both. Most clubs host in-person debate nights, and you can also debate online in live video rooms with a shared timer and remote judges. Online debates count toward the same rankings as in-person ones.
How much does it cost to join or start an adult debate club?
Joining a debate and starting a club are free. Some live events or championships may charge a small ticket to cover the venue, but competing in the league and building your rating costs nothing.
