1. Introduction

SuperDebate ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website, mobile application, and services (collectively, the "Platform").

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

We may collect information that you provide directly to us, including:

• Account information, such as your name, email address, username, and password
• Profile information, such as your bio, avatar, and areas of interest
• Content you post, including debate arguments, comments, and topic suggestions
• Communications you send to us
• Survey responses and feedback

2.2 Information Automatically Collected

When you access or use the Platform, we may automatically collect certain information, including:

• Device information, such as hardware model, operating system, and unique device identifiers
• Log information, such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time spent
• Usage data, such as features used and interactions with content
• Location information, such as general location derived from IP address

2.3 Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to collect information about your browsing activities and to distinguish you from other users of the Platform. This helps us provide you with a good experience when you browse and allows us to improve the Platform.

2.4 Coach Voice Input

If you choose voice input in the AI debate coach, your browser detects active speech and sends short audio segments securely through OpenRouter to a zero-data-retention transcription provider to convert them to text. SuperDebate does not retain those audio recordings or a separate raw voice transcript. Words you send become part of your saved debate transcript in the same way as typed words. We retain limited operational metadata such as audio duration, provider model, request identifier, and cost to enforce usage limits and monitor reliability. You can always type instead and can revoke microphone access in your browser.

2.5 Video Contributions and Recorded Rooms

In our solo video recorders, recording and preview happen on your device until you choose to upload or post the clip. A recovery draft may be saved in this browser; you can remove it from the recorder. Before uploading, we ask you to confirm that you are an adult and the only identifiable person in the clip, and to allow storage, processing and publication. We keep private authorization records linking your account to the clip or recorded room, the permission version, the time you agreed and any withdrawal. This is self-attestation, not identity or age verification; this step does not request a birth date or identity document.

New solo uploads are stored privately in Supabase Storage or processed by Mux with restricted playback. A published post shows the clip with your name and profile; pending or hidden media is available only to its author and authorized moderators. Removing your take or deleting your account stops new viewing links. An issued solo-video viewing link can remain usable for up to one minute for the original recorder or ten minutes for Mux video. Copies already saved by others cannot be recalled. Removing a take requests deletion of its uploaded files. Abandoned uploads and files belonging to removed posts become eligible for cleanup once they are at least 24 hours old. Provider failures remain queued for retry, so physical deletion can take longer. We retain the private authorization record after removal to document the permission and its withdrawal. Daily processes live-room camera and microphone streams. Before joining a recorded or broadcast room as a speaker, you must confirm that you are an adult and agree to recording and publication. View-only spectators cannot publish camera or microphone streams. Withdrawing permission below the call disconnects you and immediately blocks new replay access through SuperDebate; the provider may need additional time to confirm that the room has closed and its recordings have been deleted. Previously issued provider links remain usable until their stated expiry, and saved or externally distributed copies cannot be recalled. Authorization records document both the original permission and its withdrawal.

3. How We Use Your Information

We may use the information we collect for various purposes, including to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Platform
• Process and complete transactions
• Send you technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support messages
• Respond to your comments, questions, and requests
• Develop new products and services
• Monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities in connection with the Platform
• Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent transactions and other illegal activities
• Personalize the Platform and provide advertisements, content, or features that match user profiles or interests

4. Sharing of Information

We may share your information as follows:

• With other users, as part of your public profile and content you post
• With service providers who perform services on our behalf
• For legal purposes, such as complying with a legal obligation or protecting our rights
• In connection with a business transaction, such as a merger, sale of assets, or acquisition
• With your consent or at your direction

5. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to help protect information about you from loss, theft, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. However, no security system is impenetrable and we cannot guarantee the security of our systems or your information.

6. Your Choices

If you allow ad measurement, we use Meta Pixel on public pages to measure visits from Facebook and Instagram ads. Meta may receive the visited page address, cookie identifiers, browser and device information, and network information. We do not send your account profile, form answers or payment details through the pixel. You can allow or decline this measurement in our Cookie Policy; browser privacy signals also keep it off.

You have several choices regarding your information:

• Account Information: You may update, correct, or delete your account information at any time by logging into your account settings
• Cookies: Most web browsers are set to accept cookies by default. You can usually choose to set your browser to remove or reject cookies
• Promotional Communications: You may opt out of receiving promotional emails by following the instructions in those emails

7. Children's Privacy

Public lessons and self-guided writing or spoken rehearsal are available without an account or uploading a recording. Guest exercise notes stay on your device; signing in can enable account synchronization. Account-based services and features that collect personal information are not intended for individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete such information.

8. International Data Transfers

We may transfer, process, and store information about you in the United States and other countries, which may have different privacy and data protection laws than those in your country.

9. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on the Platform with a new effective date. Your continued use of the Platform after any such update constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
