San Francisco improv school offering an adult foundation sequence, introductory workshops and selected online classes.
About BATS Improv
BATS approaches improvisation through collaborative storytelling, listening and making choices in the moment. Its foundation sequence develops movement, character, relationships, scene work and longer narratives.
The first foundation class provides an entry point for newcomers. Later levels require earlier courses or approval for equivalent experience. The schedule separately identifies San Francisco, Palo Alto and online sections, so select the location and delivery method attached to the actual class.

Classes
Foundation 1: Mindset & Skillset
An adult introduction to the principles and practices of the BATS style of improvisation.
Eligibility: Later foundation levels have prerequisites; start with Foundation 1 or discuss placement.
Workshops
Online introduction to improv
Selected online introductory workshops use exercises in spontaneity, listening, play and storytelling.
Eligibility: Only sections explicitly marked online provide remote attendance.
