How the program debates

Based in the School of Communication, FSU Forensics gives undergraduates separate speech and debate squads that travel to intercollegiate tournaments and receive feedback from the academic community. In 2025–26, the debate program competed in IPDA, NPDA and Lincoln-Douglas. At the Florida state championship, five FSU debaters took the top five places in Lincoln-Douglas; a pair also won NPDA-style debate at the 2026 International Forensics Association tournament in Athens. The program welcomes students of all majors and experience levels. Contact its director to ask about joining and current meeting times.
