How the program debates

Grossmont College’s Speech and Debate Team connects competitive forensics with Communication Studies coursework. The course sequence moves from introductory tournament preparation to intercollegiate competition and advanced work in argument, research and team leadership; the college identifies parliamentary debate among its competition areas. The current Communication Studies faculty page lists the Director of Forensics as the contact for prospective students. At the completed October 2026 Sunset Cliffs Classic, Grossmont entered both senior and junior IPDA divisions.
