How the program debates

Truman’s Forensic Union combines speech and debate. Its debate program offers NFA Lincoln-Douglas, International Public Debate Association (IPDA) and Team IPDA events. At the 2026 Pi Kappa Delta National Convention and Tournament, Truman earned national runner-up finishes in junior varsity Parliamentary and Public Forum, and an open Parliamentary semifinal. The team also finished third in Division I at the 2026 NFA National Championship, with a debater reaching Lincoln-Douglas double octafinals.
