How the program debates

UC San Diego’s Speech and Debate Team is an official forensics program in the Department of Communication. It competes in three debate formats at collegiate tournaments: NPDA, IPDA and NFA-LD, alongside a range of speech events. Enrolled UC San Diego undergraduates may compete; students without prior experience can consult coaches, and the team recommends IPDA as an entry point for debate.
