Chicago Debate Club · Free workshop
A working session on persuasion — how to frame a claim, survive the strongest counterargument, and turn an argument into an agreement. Free to attend.
The workshop
Winning a debate is rarely about having the loudest voice. It is about framing the question, choosing the evidence that actually lands, and staying persuasive when you are under pressure.
This two-hour session works through those skills, then puts them into practice — so you leave with something you can use in your next meeting, pitch, or argument at the dinner table.
What you will learn
Practical techniques, worked through live and then rehearsed in pairs.
Define the debate so your strongest ground is the ground everyone is standing on.
Use the one number or example that moves the room, not the ten that bury it.
Answer the strongest version of the other side instead of the version you wish they had made.
Keep your footing when you are interrupted, cornered, or losing the room.
Turn a disagreement into an agreement people will actually keep.
Who it is for
Founders, operators, students, and anyone who has to persuade for a living. No debate background required.
